Sonam Jigme, a 17-year-old Class 11 Science student at Jigme Sherubling Central School, stood out as the school topper in the 2024 BCSE examinations. His academic excellence shines even brighter when seen against the backdrop of the immense challenges his family faces. His father, despite suffering a serious leg injury and selflessly donated a kidney to his brother, continues to perform hard physical labour to support the family. Adding to their burden, Sonam’s mother has recently been diagnosed with dementia, further straining their limited resources. Through it all, Sonam remains focused and driven in his pursuit of education. He now seeks support to continue his academic journey and fulfil his potential.
