Deki Yangzom

Deki Yangzom is a bright and gentle Class II student at Tokaphu Primary School. She lives in challenging conditions with her elderly grandmother, younger brother (a young monk), and older sister, who is also still in school. Abandoned by their mother and unaware of their father’s whereabouts, the children are left in the care of their grandmother, who struggles to meet even their most basic needs. They live without a proper home, and the lack of census registration has only added to their hardships. Despite these difficulties, Deki continues her schooling with quiet determination. Supporting her education would not only give her hope for a better future but also ease the burden on her aging grandmother.
